Every time I am ready to hit the bed the gnawing fear and anxiety rattles into my mind is today going to be a normal night for me am I going to get good enough sleep to keep me charged next morning.
Well this could be a nagging question behind the sleep disturbances taking a big toll on the normal functioning of anyone well acquainted with insomnia.
Insomnia is a kind of mental disorder in which the patient can find it increasingly difficult to fall asleep and this further aggravates his health related issues.
Causes of insomnia
Hypertension is one of the main reasons. People with high blood pressure can commonly get insomnia problem.
Lack of exercise is also responsible for insomnia.
Anxiety and depression can lead to insomnia. Persistent anxiety or in many cases stress over a long period of time can interfere with normal sleep schedule.
Hormonal imbalance especially during menopause time can sometimes become responsible for insomnia.
What needs to be done to cure insomnia
Exercise on regular basis. Incorporate work out in your daily life. Exercise releases hormones which can alleviate stress and anxiety and keeps depression away.
Keep a close watch on your diet don’t over indulge into carbohydrates especially during the night time and keep yourself well hydrated. Water can act as a detox agent for you and flushes out all the toxins.
Make a fixed schedule for the sleep time don’t use your bedroom for any other purposes go to your bed only when you have to sleep this conditions your brain to see your bed as a sleeping place
Make sure to relax your body and mind before hitting your bed. Do meditation or slow breathing exercises to relax your mind.
Avoid watching TV or playing with your mobile before sleeping. Read something rejuvenating which can make you feel better.
If the problem still persists make a visit to your doctor. Avoid getting used to sleeping pills it only makes you dependent on them.
